Mbarara Christians Urged To Promote Unity

Thousands of Christians thronged the streets of Mbarara City to participate in the way of the cross commemorating the passion of Christ.

The walk started from Nyamityobora grounds in Mbarara City South division and ended at Kakyeka Stadium Mbarara City North division where Christians received the word of God

This year in the Ankole diocese and Mbarara Archdiocese, the way of the crosswalk was held jointly between Catholics and Anglicans starting from Nyamityobora to Kakyeka Stadium.

It was led by the Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha and the bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt.Rev.Dr.Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa

Addressing thousands of Christians who took part in the walk, Bishop Sheldon Mwesigwa challenged them to put aside their anger and live in harmony and unity

Archbishop Lambert hailed Christians for turning up in big numbers to participate in the way of the cross. However, he asked them to keep the spirit even after Easter and remain united.

The walk also attracted political leaders at different levels in Mbarara City. Robert Rukaari-MP Mbarara City North division urged Christians to work together
