Minister Bahati Assures Youth On Government Plan To Avert Unemployment
The State Minister for Trade, Industries and Cooperatives, David Bahati says Uganda’s industrialization agenda will be the most reliable solution to the current unemployment challenge in the country.
According to trade economics, global macro models and analysts’ expectations, unemployment rate in Uganda is projected to trend around 3.00 percent in 2023 and 2.8.0 percent in 2024 respectively.
However, Hon. Bahati insists that if more Ugandan youth embrace the government plans to establish industries in various parts of the country, unemployment will be greatly reduced.
The Ndorwa West MP Hon. David Bahati says government’s commitment to reduce the levels of unemployment is on plan.
He made the remarks at a ceremony while rewarding the excellent performers in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) from his constituency.
The MP gifted 97 learners who passed in division one in the recently released PLE results from the constituency with mattresses and blankets from the legislator.
Hon. Bahati congratulated them and assured them of a greater future ahead if they commit to good discipline and work hard.
Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU) national chairperson, Zadock Tumuhimbise asked the government to consider more support for rural based primary schools.
The Kabale district education officer, Moses Bwengye the district has kicked off strategies to ensure better grades from schools in the near future.
Some of the candidates rewarded hailed the minister for the initiative that encourages them to excel.
According to UNEB, 832,654 pupils sat for PLE from 14,691 school centers in 2022 and at least 714,702 candidates passed whereas 97,109 candidates failed.
