Minister Kabbyanga Commends Gov’t For Uganda’s Development

The Minister of State for National Guidance, Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, has commended the government of Uganda for its rapid pace of development, attributing the country's progress to the peace and stability that prevail across the nation.

His remarks were delivered at the Bridge for Peace International School in Kasese, where he was represented by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Lt. Joe Walusimbi, during a successful donors’ conference aimed at raising funds for the completion of a multi-purpose hall at the school.

 

Over 37 million shillings, both in cash and pledges, were raised during a donors’ conference aimed at completing a multimillion-shilling multi-purpose hall at Bridge for Peace International School in Kasese.

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Lt. Joe Walusimbi, who represented the Minister of State for National Guidance, Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku, as the chief guest, urged parents to take ownership of the project.

The RDC also praised the Government of Uganda for the prevailing peace, noting that it has been a key driver of rapid development in the country. He further advised visitors to distance themselves from individuals with selfish interests.

Rev. Fr. Peter Basaliza Mubunga, the Chaplain, of Bridge for Peace, who represented Bishop Rt. Rev. Francis Acquirinus Kibira thanked God for the school and the bridge. He commended their activities both in the region and globally.

While delivering his speech, Edward Eckart, the President of Bridge for Peace International, stated that his prophecy from 2011 had come true. He expressed his happiness that they have shared both the responsibility and the fruits of their efforts. He attributed their success to the collaboration between the Catholic management in Kasese and his leadership.

Annette Eckart, Founder and Vice President of Bridge for Peace International, who was the guest preacher of the day, emphasized that God offers us free salvation, and it is up to each individual to accept it.

The Headteacher of Bridge for Peace International School, Mrs Kabugho Edreen, explained the group of children under their care. She highlighted that the school supports not only children from disadvantaged backgrounds but also children of homeless individuals living on the streets and those whose mothers have died during childbirth.

Mapoze Selevest Coordinator Bridge for Peace International Uganda and Director Africa, revealed when the construction will commence and the amount of money being collected.
