Ministry Of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives Focuses On Value Addition
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives will put emphasis on value addition in Uganda’s industries to increase employment opportunities and revenue collection.
The State Minister for Industry David Bahati gave the commitment in Kampala while giving an update on the implementation of the NRM Manifesto by the ministry.
He noted that from 81 factories in 1986, Uganda now has 8,640 factories that he said would create jobs for approximately three million m people in the near future.
Bahati also states that import substitution and export promotion will boost the industrial sector.
