
Ministry Of Water And Environment Service Delivery
The Ministry of Water and Environment has unveiled its new strategic plan to improve services delivery across the country.
One of the ministry’s plans is to sign strategic partnerships with a number of universities to conduct research on relevant areas of investments for public good.
The ministry officials addressed journalists at the Uganda Media Centre Kampala. Christopher Tumusiime, the Commissioner of Utilities
Regulation in the Ministry of Water and Environment said that they will use a science based approach to implement development projects. In this endeavour, the ministry will partner with numerous Universities including Makerere and others, to conduct research.
According to Tumusiime, 7% of the population in Kampala has access to sewage services. Residents of other cities including Gulu have access to similar services.
Shabric Nantege, a project coordinator in the Ministry of Water and Environment, says they have visited different schools across the country for research and sensitisation.
The ministry will hold an expo to award young and youthful innovators who have excel in different fields that promote sustainable development.
