Today, Honourable Rose Obinga, MP for the Terega district on the NRM Ticket, officially announced her intention to contest for the position of Deputy Speaker of Parliament even after some of the party strongholds announced their support for Hon. Thomas Tayebwa who held the position in the 12th parliament
She made these remarks during a press conference held at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo.
If elected for speaker, she promises Ugandans corruption intolerance in the 12th Parliament, ensuring that the voices of Ugandans are prioritized among other promises.
The member of parliament promises service delivery during her term in office and urges the president of the nation to consider involving gender balance and equity in parliamentary leadership.
According to the incumbent, she has done many things for her district and continues to, and will, if given chance, improve sectors like agriculture and livelihoods of Ugandans
