Museveni Swearing-In Described as A Symbol of Peace, Stability and Continuity: Busoga NRM Leaders Praise Museveni for Dev’t and PDM Impact. Hon. Selwanyi Urges Ugandans to Join May 12 Swearin

As Uganda prepares for the presidential swearing-in ceremony on May 12th, leaders within the National Resistance Movement continue to rally citizens to support the event, describing it as a celebration of peace, stability, and national progress achieved under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s leadership.

The Member of Parliament for Bukooli County Central and Bugiri District NRM Chairperson, Hon. Solomon Selwanyi, has called upon Ugandans to embrace the upcoming presidential swearing-in ceremony scheduled for May 12th, 2026.

Speaking to the media, Selwanyi described the ceremony as an important national event that reflects Uganda’s continued peace, stability, and democratic transition under the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The legislator applauded President Museveni for what he termed as remarkable transformation in the Busoga sub-region, particularly in sectors such as health, education, road infrastructure, and household income improvement through government programs.

Selwanyi specifically pointed to the Parish Development Model, saying many families in Bugiri District are gradually transforming their livelihoods through agriculture, small businesses, and government-backed financial support initiatives.

He also thanked the people of Bugiri for their continued support to the National Resistance Movement during the recently concluded elections, pledging to continue working closely with President Museveni to deliver services to the people.

The Bugiri NRM Chairperson further credited President Museveni for maintaining peace and stability in Uganda over the last four decades, saying the country has continued to register steady growth under stable leadership.

Hon. Selwanyi has now urged people across Busoga and other parts of the country to either attend the swearing-in ceremony physically or follow the proceedings live on television as Uganda enters another political term under President Museveni’s leadership.
