Namirembe Diocese has launched a major fundraising drive through the Mujje Tuzimbe Run, as Bishop Rt. Rev. Moses Banja calls on Christians to unite in raising 6 billion shillings for the construction of a new Bishop’s House, an initiative aimed at preserving the Diocese’s historic legacy while investing in future generations.

The Mujje Tuzimbe Run was unveiled during a colorful ceremony led by Rt. Rev. Moses Banja alongside Rev. Canon Nassaka Banja, marking the official start of a campaign expected to mobilize thousands of Christians and well-wishers.

Organizers say the run, scheduled for July 25th, 2026, is designed not only as a fundraising platform but also as a unifying event to rally support for the long-awaited Bishop’s House project.

Speaking at the launch, Bishop Rt. Rev. Moses Banja described Namirembe Diocese as the mother of Anglican dioceses in Uganda, underscoring its pivotal role in the growth of the faith and the need to safeguard its legacy through strategic development.

He urged Christians across the country to take part in the run, emphasizing that collective effort and unity remain central to building a stronger and sustainable Church.

The chairperson of the building committee, Kalyango Stanley, outlined the vision of the proposed Bishop’s House, noting that the facility will enhance administration and support the diocese's expanding mission.

Chief Mobilizer William Kajoba rallied Christians, partners, and the wider community to actively support the initiative to ensure its success.

Participants in the Mujje Tuzimbe Run will compete in 5, 10, and 15-kilometer race categories, offering a range of options for both seasoned runners and first-time participants.

With momentum building, church leaders say the campaign goes beyond fundraising, serving as a platform to strengthen faith, unity, and shared responsibility within the Christian community.
