No New Ebola Cases – Ps, Ministry of Health: DRC-Ugandan Boarder Closed Effective Immediately. Schools In Boarder Districts to Remain Open
The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine, has announced that Uganda has not recorded any new cases of Ebola since the 25th, as earlier speculated; however, the total number of contacts to confirmed cases has increased, and the ministry is closely monitoring them. Most of the contacts are health workers because of the close contact they had, but only seven cases remain confirmed.
In a national task force meeting chaired by the retired Vice President Maj. Jessica Alupo today, it was decided that Uganda is closing the border to Congo effective immediately, and Ebola response teams, food and cargo transportation teams, and security personnel remain the only exception. These teams will be subjected to strict health screening
