NRM Candidates In Hoima By-Election To Hold A Joint Campaign For 21 Days

NRM Candidates In Hoima By-Election To Hold A Joint Campaign For 21 Days

Candidates vying for the NRM flag in the incoming Hoima district Local Council five by-election have been cautioned against causing violence during joint campaigns slated to start on Wednesday 7th until the 22nd of August.

This has been sounded by Joseph Kutegeka, the Hoima district NRM Registrar during a harmonisation meeting for the joint campaigns held at Muganwa house in Hoima City.

Yesterday 7 candidates under the NRM flag were nominated to vie for the Hoima district by-election

Now the joint campaigns for NRM by-election for the seat will run for 21 days across 318 villages in 14 sub-counties.

Joseph Kutegeka, the Hoima district NRM Registrar today held a harmonisation meeting for the joint campaigns at Muganwa house in Hoima City.

Mr Kutegeka says any candidate involved in violence by either his supporters will be cancelled out of the race.

Micheal Kyakashari, the deputy Hoima resident district commissioner, has asked candidates to tame their supporters.

David Kaboyo who also represented the NRM chairperson and former 2nd deputy Prime Minister Kajura Muganwa discouraged candidates from being tempted to run as independents once they don't go through.

Candidates who included Jackson Mulindambula, John Kwemara and Samuel Kyakadongo are worried about voters being ferried from other places over an un-updated voter register and the unknown number of villages.

Elections are slated for 25th August this year 2023.

The Hoima district seat fell vacant after the death of Kadiri Kirungi who died in an accident in Kiboga along Hoima-Kampala road.
