NSSF Suppliers Forum Champions Innovation And Shared Growth:NSSF Calls For Stronger Partnerships To Drive Economic Transformation.Forum Highlights Sustainable Procurement And Local Enterprise

The National Social Security Fund has hosted the NSSF Suppliers Forum 2026, bringing together suppliers, procurement experts, business leaders, and industry stakeholders to discuss innovation, sustainable procurement, and stronger partnerships aimed at driving Uganda’s economic transformation.

Held under the theme “Powered by Diversity, Driven by Shared Growth,” the forum emphasized collaboration, enterprise development, and inclusive economic progress.

The NSSF Suppliers Forum 2026 attracted hundreds of suppliers and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, with discussions centered on strengthening supplier relationships, promoting innovation, and advancing sustainable procurement practices.

Speaking during the forum, NSSF managing director Patrick Ayota highlighted the fund's transformation journey, noting that innovation, agility, and speed are increasingly shaping the future of the institution.

He stressed that stronger partnerships and fresh ideas will be critical in driving NSSF’s continued growth and contribution to national development.

Ayota further explained that the future of NSSF extends beyond social security, emphasizing that collaboration with suppliers and businesses can contribute to broader economic transformation and create more opportunities for Ugandans.

Meanwhile, Moses Ojambo from the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority called on institutions to view procurement as a strategic tool for national development rather than merely an administrative process.

He emphasized the importance of fairness, supplier development, and collaboration in promoting inclusive economic growth.

NSSF Chief Enterprise and Growth Officer Penne Kabagambe-Wabwire encouraged suppliers to promote a culture of saving within their organizations, noting that personal savings strengthen households, businesses, and communities while contributing to a stronger social protection system.

The forum also highlighted the importance of sustainable procurement practices as part of efforts to build resilient and responsible supply chains.

Speaking on supplier engagement, NSSF Chief Procurement and Disposal Officer Dan Mugura noted that the Suppliers Forum has over the years strengthened supplier capacity, enhanced transparency, and promoted fairness in procurement processes.

He revealed that the Fund has built a network of more than 1,000 suppliers over the past decade, the majority of whom are local contractors and enterprises.

The NSSF Suppliers Forum 2026 concluded with renewed calls for innovation, accountability, and stronger partnerships as stakeholders committed to supporting sustainable business growth and Uganda’s wider economic transformation.
