Ntinda Archdeaconry Officially Inaugurated In Kampala Diocese

The Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Kampala, Rt. Rev. Fredrick Jackson Baalwa has presided over the inauguration of Ntinda Archdeaconry and the induction of Venerable Canon David Serunjoji as its first Archdeacon.

The ceremony, held at St. Luke Church of Uganda in Ntinda, attracted several bishops, senior clergy, and congregants from across the diocese.

The colourful ceremony began with the commissioning of a new sanctuary at St. Luke Church of Uganda, Ntinda, now the host parish of the newly created archdeaconry.

Rt. Rev. Baalwa was accompanied by retired Assistant Bishop Rt. Rev. Hannington Mutebi, alongside other bishops and clergy.

In his sermon, retired Assistant Bishop Rt. Rev. Hannington Mutebi emphasised the importance of servant leadership, calling on Christians to support church leaders.

Ntinda Archdeaconry, formerly known as Central Deaconry, now comprises several churches, including St. Peter’s Church of Uganda, Naguru, St. Luke Church of Uganda, Ntinda, Kakumba Chapel, and St. Paul Church of Uganda, Mbuya Kiwanawataka, among others.

Following the inauguration, Venerable Canon David Serunjoji was formally presented for induction by fellow archdeacons.

In his remarks, Assistant Bishop Rt. Rev. Jackson Fredrick Baalwa urged Christians to listen to and support their archdeacon.

He further encouraged believers to utilise services offered under the archdeaconry structure.

Venerable Canon Captain David Serunjoji highlighted key projects the archdeaconry will focus on, alongside evangelism.

In a show of support, Christians at St. Luke Church of Uganda, led by the Head of Laity, donated a new car to the Archdeacon.

The inauguration marks a new chapter in strengthening church administration and expanding outreach within the Kampala Diocese.
