Ntoroko RDC Warns Of Terrorism Charges On Those Stealing Road Signs On Fort Portal-Ntoroko Road
The Ntoroko Resident District Commissioner Rt Maj Jones Mugabirwe has warned of terrorism charges against the people stealing road signs and digging up tarmac for gravel from Fort Portal Ntoroko road.
The statement from the RDC comes at a time when almost all the road signs from the road in question have all been taken away by unidentified people
The Ntoroko Resident District Commissioner Rt Maj Jones Mugabirwe has cautioned residents to stop stealing road signs and digging up tarmac for gravel from fort portal-ntoroko road. The RDC noted that the act has caused several accidents on the roads which he says is tantamount to terrorism charges to those taking the road signs away.
“Many people have died of accidents so if you get caught taking away those road signs you will be charged with terrorism, parents should tell your children.’’
The road which was officially commissioned in August 2015 by Allen Kagina, the executive director of the Uganda National Roads Authority cost the government 217.8 billion shillings.
The RDC says that the challenges affecting this road are not only taking away the road signs but people are also digging the tarmac
up in search of gravel.
‘’People have also started digging up tarmac looking for gravel, I feel like I should first warn you of the danger that is coming your
way.’’
Edie Kabugho, the Ntoroko vice chairperson says that those taking away the road signs are killing people unknowingly and challenging them, to stop the act.
Those using the road say the absence of road signs and the potholes created by those digging up for gravel has made it hard to drive on this road. These say some have in the end ended up getting accidents.
