Parents Encouraged To Uncover And Foster Their Children's Talents

RITAH

Parents have been urged to help their children discover their talents outside of academic fields.

It has been revealed that many children have unrecognised talents, and those who strive to develop their skills often do so without the full backing of their parents.

Sports experts believe that with the country embracing the competency-based curriculum many children are bound to exhibit their talents

This was addressed during youth training carried out at the OlympAfrica Youth Centre.

Ivan Masako, an internationally recognized coach in weightlifting and wrestling, has urged parents to facilitate their children's journey in discovering their talents.

He notes that many children have unrecognised talents, and those who strive to develop their skills often do so without the full backing of their parents.

He added that many children are talented but they lack support.

Musitafwa Mugerwa, the director of OlympAfrica Youth Centre, stated they have introduced different games to allow children to expose and discover their talents amidst financial constraints since they are not getting financial support from their parents.

Janet Mary Auma, the head teacher at Sihubira Primary School, has highlighted the issue of receiving insufficient funds under the UPE grant, resulting in a limited budget for co-curricular activities. 2. Auma, a sports enthusiast, mentioned that she often uses her funds to assist gifted students in her school to attend the National Olympic Youth Centre in Namungodi town council for various sports events.

Students have expressed their gratitude to the school for supporting sports.
