Preparation For Uganda Christian University (UCU) Sunday On 28th September 2025
Church of Uganda is pleased to announce that 28th September 2025 will be observed across the Province as Uganda Christian University (UCU) Sunday.
UCU Sunday was approved by the Board of Trustees/House of Bishops in 2017 and passed by the Provincial Assembly of Church of Uganda to mobilize prayer, financial, and moral support for Uganda Christian University every last Sunday of September.
Established in 1997 by Church of Uganda, UCU was founded in response to the nation’s growing need for quality higher education rooted in Christian values.
Today, UCU’s mission is “to equip students for holistic, transformational leadership in various sectors of society.” The university envisions producing graduates who embody Christian values, professional excellence, and a commitment to community development.
This year’s UCU Sunday will be celebrated under the theme: “Imitating God’s goodness by doing good” (Galatians 6:9).
Objectives of UCU Sunday

2. To offer financial support to UCU: Remit all collections from UCU Sunday to UCU as passed by the Provincial Assembly.
3. To create publicity for UCU: Share information about UCU’s programs and activities within your Dioceses.
