President Museveni mourns fallen Speaker Oulanyah
About 1500 people including Members of the Executive, Parliament, Judiciary, Foreign Dignitaries, Heads of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Family Members, Leaders from Acholi sub-region yesterday gathered at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds for a State Funeral of the fallen Speaker Jacob Oulanyah.
President Yoweri Museveni who was the chief mourner described Speaker Oulanyah’s death as a “big loss” adding that the nation was yet to benefit from him.
President Museveni commended him for uniting Northern Uganda, which he says, was messed up by bad politics.
He also promised that Government will contribute to the Oulanyah Education Fund to support his children’s education and commended Chief Justice Owiny Dollo for the venture.
The President who maintained that Speaker Oulanyah was disciplined cautioned the public to pay attention to their health and avoid alcohol, obesity, and prostitution.
Speaker Jacob Oulanyah will be laid to rest on Friday in his ancestral home in Omoro, Lalogi village.
