Prime Minister Calls For Sustainable Management Of Natural Resources

The Prime minister of Uganda Robinah Nabanja has called for sustainable management of natural resources so as to contain disasters that the Country is currently experiencing.

The Prime Minister made the remarks while presiding over the World Tourism Day in Hoima Oil City. The premier was taken through exhibitors before she was entertained by poems about tourism and among others.

Amongst the exhibitors was the Petroleum Authority of Uganda which had a sample of the Crude Oil expected to be extracted from the Bunyoro oil fields.

Seth Muhumuza, the corporate affairs officer in the Petroleum Authority of Uganda explained that they are interlinking with all sectors like tourism for the growth of the economy.

Dr. Joseph Ruyonga, the Hoima West division member of Parliament reveals that Tourism in Bunyoro has been heightened with the discovery of Oil and Gas.

Brian Kaboyo the Hoima City Mayor has commended the Ministry of Tourism for considering them to host this year’s event.

Retired Col. Tom Butime the Minister for Tourism says the Government has put in place infrastructure to enable tourists easily access different Tourism sites in the Albertine Region.

Prime Minister Nabanja says serious floods have been registered in the Districts of Kisoro, Kasase, Bundibugyo, Buliisa, and Bududa among others due to floods resulting from the destruction of wetlands and forests.

Nabanja has also called on Investors to invest in the Tourism Sector especially in Bunyoro since there are many Tourism attractions.

The Day was marked under the theme Tourism and Green Investment.
