Religious And Education Institutions Move Against Homosexuality
Interfaith clergy and schools in Fort portal tourism city have staged a peaceful demonstration protesting against homosexuality and other immoral practices in the country.
The clergy under their campaign “Fort portal for Jesus prayer walk” urged citizens to desist from financial-related temptations that can lead them to homosexuality.
Students and clergy in Fort Portal city gathered at Buhinga grounds to march through the city carrying placards and flags with the aid of traffic police and UPDF band.
The placards read homosexuality is a sin, Team No to homosexuality, Uganda against homosexuality, Fort portal says No to homosexuality, Abatooro tetulya bisiyaga among others.
Bishop Robert Muhirwa the Bishop of Fort Portal Diocese cautioned students to be contented with little they have to avoid homosexuality.
Bishop Muhirwa revealed that the vice of homosexuality has killed families in countries where it has taken the center stage.
Bishop Reuben Kisembo of Rwenzori diocese said the fight against homosexuality should focus on other evil practices including theft, corruption, and murder among others.
The Rwenzori diocese bishop condemned all teachings in the country promoting the vice and challenged leaders to join the fight against what he described as sin.
