JOHN BAPTIST

Police have found it difficult to extinguish a fire set by Banda residents in the middle of the road as they protested over the hasty construction of a section of Jinja Road.

In response, the UNRA spokesperson Allan Sempebwa clarified the delays in construction saying these were due to financial constraints.

Police in Banda have found it difficult to extinguish a fire set by angry residents protesting the slow construction of a part of Jinja Road.

Authorities swiftly arrived at the scene where a fire was ablaze in the middle of the road, leading to a disturbance in the traffic. The residents expressed their frustration over the lengthy construction period and the adverse effects of the dust on their well-being.

Kyambogo leaders led by Councilor Mutuuzo Vasitina sided with the residents calling for quicker action in constructing this road section.

Vehicles were seen swerving to prepare for the attack but the situation later calmed down.

Speaking to Allan Sempebwa the Spokesperson of URNA via phone call, he informed COU Family TV how the construction works on Jinja Road were halted due to financial constraints. He however revealed how work will resume by the end of this month and called for patience from the public.
