Rev. Rukundo Urges Churches To Empower People To Discover Their Gifts

The provincial youth and children coordinator in the Church of Uganda, Reverend Rukundo Richard, has called upon churches to empower their followers to discover the gifts endowed on them by God.

Reverend Rukundo made the call during the abundant leadership training organized by Kurumbuka Leadership Solutions in collaboration with Cambridge Health Inc. and the Church of Uganda.

Yesterday, the abundant leadership foundation master class, which started last Sunday, saw more than 40 young leaders across the country attend. This is organized by the provincial youth and children’s coordinator, Reverend Rukundo, working together with Cambridge Health Inc. and Kurumbuka Leadership Solutions.

Addressing the media during the training, Reverend Richard Rukundo stressed the need for churches to empower and equip people to discover their gifts. He says this is the only key to unlocking them from the underlying problems of dependence.

But what is kurumbuka leadership training and how will it impact the young people in Uganda. Reverend Rukundo explains and gives the sustainability of the program in the country.

According to Reverend Rukundo, the failure to focus on one’s opportunities and abilities, but rather the negativities, is one of the core reasons for underdevelopment in Uganda and Africa as a whole. He wants people to change their mindset.

Flavia Nampala Mwondha, a trainer at Kurumbuka Leadership Solutions, stressed why they are focusing on leadership, saying that when this is addressed, there is automatic sustainability and community development.

Flavia urges the need to awaken the spirit of patriotism among Ugandans as the only way through which the government can address the leadership gaps existing in the country.

Elijah Mutumba, the President Kurumbuka Leadership Solutions Alumni, explains the benefits of taking up the abundant leadership training, hence calling on the government to take a leaf from Kurumbuka.

The Abundant program, which started last Sunday, is to last for one year, and this is to be extended to the rest of the parts of Uganda, according to the brains behind it.
