Soroti High Court Upholds Election Of MP Andrew Koluo
After the 2021 general election, Solomon Ossiya one of the contestants in the Toroma county parliamentary seat went to court challenging the victory of Andrew Koluo on grounds that the elections were not conducted in accordance with the principles and Provisions of electoral laws.
In his ruling, Justice Musa Ssekaana blamed the petitioner for failure to discharge the burden of proof in the court case. The Judge also noted that the petition was incompetent and filled in contravention with section 60 of the parliamentary elections act, adding that there is no sufficient evidence to overturn the election of Hon Koluo.
Toroma county member of parliament Andrew Joseph Koluo expressed happiness and called upon all who were his opponents in the race to unite and join hands for the development of Toroma County.
