“For more than two decades, generations of Arsenal F.C. supporters kept hope alive as the club laid strategy for a win that would mark their return to major glory. Now, after 22 years of waiting, the atmosphere has completely changed. Streets filled with chants, jerseys, flags, and celebrations as supporters finally witnessed a moment many thought would never come again. For some fans, it was more than just a victory but a reward for years of loyalty, patience, and belief in the club they love

Supporters of Arsenal F.C. were seen celebrating across different parts of the city following the club’s victory during the night leading into today. Some traders dealing in Arsenal merchandise revealed that the demand for jerseys sharply increased immediately after the victory. The vendors noted that prices for Arsenal shirts rose from UGX 10,000 to UGX 20,000 due to the overwhelming number of buyers throughout the day. They added that business has been booming since the final whistle, with many supporters rushing to purchase club merchandise to commemorate the achievement.

Among the fans we spoke to was Kansabe Thomas, a boda boda rider and passionate Arsenal supporter, who described the moment as one of the happiest in his life as a football fan. Thomas said he felt “fully gassed,” using the popular street expression to describe his excitement, noting that it had been many years since he last witnessed Arsenal lifting a major trophy.

Thomas also urged fellow Arsenal fans to celebrate responsibly and avoid engaging in violence, destruction of property, or any form of public disorder during the celebrations. He emphasized that football should unite people and promote happiness rather than conflict.

Jumah Martin Kaganda, a trader operating in St. Balikuddembe Market, said the timing of Arsenal’s title victory affected fans who had hoped for bigger celebrations. He explained that many supporters wished the team had secured the trophy over the weekend, which would have given them enough time to party throughout the entire day. Nevertheless, Kaganda congratulated fellow Arsenal supporters upon the historic achievement.

Isma, a local MC and devoted supporter of Arsenal F.C., revealed that fans have organized an “Arsenal carnival” aimed at extending the celebrations following the club’s triumph. He noted that for many supporters, this is the first Premier League title they have witnessed in over 22 years, making the occasion emotional and unforgettable for long-time fans.

Meanwhile, a woman popularly known in the area as “Mama Arsenal” expressed overwhelming excitement over the club’s success. She explained that Arsenal supporters had endured years of ridicule from rival fans during the club’s long wait for silverware. According to her, supporters are now planning a special meeting within the community to organize a major celebration party in honor of the victory.

Sentongo Ashiraf, a dealer in cosmetics within the neighborhood, said supporters are now fully backing Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta following the team’s success. He called upon Arsenal fans to continue celebrating proudly and urged the club’s management to extend Arteta’s contract for another term, crediting him for rebuilding the team and guiding it back to glory.

Jonah Jordan, a jersey seller and loyal supporter of Arsenal F.C., expressed immense pride in being an Arsenal fan following the club’s triumph.
