The 5th Edition Of The SDGS Run To Focus On Enforcing Energy Access In Uganda

The East African Community Affairs ministry has launched the 5th edition of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) run slated to take place on the 29th of October, 2023 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
The Minister for EAC Affairs, and 1st Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga stressed that the run will focus on SDG 7, as an effort to provide accessible, affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for all Ugandans.
Officials from the internal security agency of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), and Uganda Police Force (UPF) assured citizens of their devotion to provide security and ensure their wellbeing during the run, with 200 police officers expected to be deployed.
The SDG run was initially initially in Uganda in 2017 as a symbol of the country’s commitment to achieving the SGD agenda for 2030.
The year’s run will be led by Youth Go Green organization, under the patronage of Hon. Kadaga, and flagged off by the Vice President of Uganda, H.E Major (Rtd) Jessica Alupo.
