Thousands Turn Up For Muhoozi’s 52nd Birthday Run: Leaders, Plu Officials Rally Behind Charity Cause Funds Raised To Support Vulnerable Children

Thousands of Ugandans thronged Kololo Independence Grounds today to take part in the 52nd birthday run of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, an event that blended celebration with charity under the theme “Run for Hope, Run for Charity.”

The marathon drew a diverse crowd from top political, military and Patriotic League of Uganda leaders to ordinary citizens, highlighting widespread public engagement, while organisers pledged that proceeds would support vulnerable children across the country.

The marathon attracted several high-profile figures, including deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa, cabinet ministers and senior military officials led by Sam Okiding.

Top leaders of the Patriotic League of Uganda also attended in large numbers, from national leadership to grassroots supporters.

Among those present were National Vice Chairman Michael Toyota, Secretary General David Kabanda, Balaam Barugahara, Andrew Mwenda, Frank Gashumba, and Frank Mwesigye, among others.

The event also drew participation from business leaders, religious groups, and cultural institutions, reflecting broad national representation.

Organisers confirmed that funds raised from the marathon will go toward supporting vulnerable children across Uganda, including orphans, street children, and those from disadvantaged families.

Although Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba did not attend due to other state engagements, he was represented by Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa during the main ceremony.

In a speech delivered on his behalf, participants were thanked for showing support and solidarity. The message also appreciated Ugandans for their continued backing of Yoweri Museveni, and acknowledged family and national support.

The Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda also praised citizens for standing with Gen. Muhoozi and supporting the charitable cause, noting optimism about the country’s future.
