Uganda Tightens Security Ahead of Museveni Swearing-In Ceremony:15 Heads of State Expected as Final Inauguration Preparations Intensify. Traffic Disruptions and Heavy Security Mark Kololo Pre
Security and logistical preparations are in high gear ahead of tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, with thousands of supporters, invited guests, and heads of state expected to attend the national event.
Government agencies have now intensified coordination, security deployment, and traffic management plans to ensure a smooth and successful inauguration ceremony.
Preparations for tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have entered the final stage, with heavy security deployment and logistical coordination now visible around Kololo Ceremonial Grounds and major routes leading to the venue.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that at least 15 heads of state are expected to attend the ceremony, with most foreign dignitaries scheduled to arrive in the country ahead of the event.
Speaking to the media at Kololo today, ministry spokesperson Margaret Kafeero said Uganda is fully prepared to host the visiting leaders and invited guests.
Members of the National Organizing Committee and officials from different government agencies have also outlined guidelines and coordination measures aimed at ensuring smooth media coverage and proper organization during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Police Force has announced traffic interruptions on several major roads leading to the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke advised motorists to cooperate with traffic officers and use alternative routes where necessary to avoid congestion and delays.
The Special Forces Command has also assured the country of maximum security ahead of the inauguration.
SFC spokesperson Major Denis Omar urged journalists and accredited personnel to report early at designated checkpoints to ease the screening and clearance process.
Security personnel were today seen conducting advanced security rehearsals, including aerial parachute drills and coordinated tactical demonstrations around the ceremonial grounds.
The spokesperson of the Office of the National Chairman, Moses Kintu, described the inauguration as a significant moment for supporters of President Museveni, saying the event symbolizes continuity in leadership, service delivery, and national development.
With security deployment intensified and final rehearsals completed, Uganda now awaits tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony expected to attract thousands of supporters, international dignitaries, and regional leaders at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds
