Uganda To Host 3rd Group Of 77 (G77) South Summit In 2024
The chairman of the Group of 77 (G77) countries, Ambassador Pedroso Cuesta Pedro Luis and his team have completed a four-day fact-finding mission to Uganda to assess the country’s readiness to host the 3rd South summit next year.
The Summit was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now 3rd South summit will be held in Kampala from 21st to 23rd January 2023 under the theme, “Leaving no one behind.” The first two summits were held in Havana, Cuba and Doha, Qatar in 2000, and 2005 respectively.
The G77 is a group of developing countries that are members of the UN.
Hon. Okello said that the summit will be of economic and social benefit to the country.
