Ugandan Schools to follow the abridged Curriculum

Ugandan Schools to follow the abridged Curriculum

The Ministry of Education and Sports through the National Curriculum Development Center has developed an abridged curriculum for all classes except Primary one, Senior 1 and 5 aimed at redeeming the time schools lost during the lockdown.

Addressing the press, The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Sports Ms Ketty Lamaro emphasised that the abridged curriculum is not a new one but rather a shortened and repackaged form of the standard curriculum.

Ms Namaro added that the curriculum will help learners to cope with the demand and learning vigour on the next level following automatic promotion.

She called upon headteachers to adopt the abridged curriculum and facilitate teachers to attend training about it whenever they are called upon.
