
Updf Set For Tarehe Sita Anniversary
The Uganda People’s Defense Forces and its sister forces, the Uganda Police Force, Uganda Prisons and Wildlife Authority, have climaxed preparations for the 42nd Tarehe Sita anniversary celebrations.
The forces’ construction team fine-tuned Kakyeka Stadium where it’s expected that the Commander in Chief President Yoweri Museveni will preside the clebrations.
The UPDF deputy spokesperson Col. Deo Akiiki, says everything is set for the anniversary celebrations. He said that UPDF is committed to push ahead social economic transformation.
Defense and Veterans Affairs Minister Vicent Ssempija says Greater Mbarara was chosen to host this year’s Tarehe Sita celebrations as part of the fulfilment of FRONASA liberation struggle.
He hailed people in the region for having decided to listen to the good message of leaders calling up on people to work and change their life and thanked them for offering their children to join the struggle
Lt. Col. James Mwesigye- RCC Mbarara thanked UPDF for choosing Mbarara to host this year's Tarehe Sita. UPDF also handed over projects implemented in the region which among them included symbolic monuments, renovated infrastructure and constructed some.
The minister of works and transport Gen. Katumba Wamala, while officiating at the handover of projects implemented congratulated the UPDF for the good work done.
