Uthuman Mugisa Wins Hoima LC5 Seat After Heated Race
The newly elected Hoima District Local Council 5 Chairperson Mr Uthuman Mugisa Mubarack has been sworn in. On September 14th, 2023, Merrab Kasande, the Hoima District Returning Officer, declared Mugisa as the winner of the Hoima LCV Bi-election. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Kasingo Hoima District Headquarters, and it was presided over by the Hoima Chief Magistrate, George Nfitundinda.
Uthuman Mugisa Mubarack has officially assumed the Office of the District Chairperson replacing his Father the Late Kadir Kirungi who died in a Motor accident on March 17th this year in Bukomero Kiboga District on the Hoima-Kampala HighWay.
The Hoima Chief Magistrate George Nfituninda has asked the new District Boss to protect, preserve and uphold the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
He has also encouraged him to make sure that he monitors the general administration of the District and also provides good services to the electorate.
While delivering his inaugural Speech Mugisa has called for Cooperation between members of the District Council and the Technical Staff.
He has also pledged to address issues affecting the local people such as land grabbing, poor roads, unemployment among the youth etc.
The Benson Chiche has highlighted a number of issues the new Chairperson should focus on.
Michael Kyakashari the Hoima Deputy Resident District Commissioner and Harriet Katusiime the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer have assured him of good working relations.
The Bunyoro District Khadi Shekhi Musa Babanja has encouraged Mugisa to promote Justice.
