West Ankole Diocese Synod elects Heads of Laity and Clergy

The Bishop of West Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni inaugurated the 11th Diocesan Synod over the weekend where Diocesan Heads of Laity and Clergy, Boards and Committees were elected.

The synod re-elected Mr. Willis Bashasha Head of Laity and Ven. Rev. Can. Godfrey Bejuura Head of Clergy in the presence of the Diocesan chancellor Mr. Marvin Baryaruha and will serve in the same positions for four years.

Both Ven. Rev. Can. Bejuura and Mr Bashasha thanked the clergy for entrusting them with the mandate to represent them as their voice and pledged his support towards Clergy welfare.

Bishop Twinomujuni called upon all delegates and the elected leaders to go and be agents of peace and commissioned them to preach the gospel of love that unites.

West Ankole Diocesan Information and Communication Officer Bright Niwaha says the meeting that was held at St. Peter's Cathedral, Bweranyangi attracted hundreds of clergy and Laity representatives from parishes and other constituencies across the Diocese.
