Youth Leaders Decry Inadequate Funding:Call For Greater Investment In Skills Development.
Youth leaders in the Kabale district have consistently decried low budget allocations and insufficient funds for youth-focused programs and skilling initiatives.
Young people in the area of Makanga village continue to protest the ineffectiveness of empowerment programs due to limited financial support and resource gaps. This call was made during youth leaders meeting in western Uganda
Speaking during a gathering, Denis Ndyomugyenyi Nzeirwe, the LCV chairperson in Kabale, acknowledged the financial constraints affecting youth programs, saying the district leadership is aware of the challenges posed by the inadequate budget.
Denis pledged to work closely with district technocrats during the budgeting process to ensure that more resources are allocated to youth activities.
He said increased funding would enhance the implementation of programs focused on youth empowerment, skills development, employment creation, and entrepreneurship.
The youth council, led by District Youth Chairperson John Bosco Namara, recently highlighted these challenges at the Rukiko
District leaders say increased investment in youth empowerment programs will help create employment opportunities, strengthen entrepreneurship, and equip young people with practical skills for sustainable development
