Mbarara Women Urged To Be Submissive To Their Husbands
Women in Nombe Parish in Ankole diocese, Mbarara district have been urged to be submissive to their husbands and respect them if they are to build stable and developmental families.
The call was made by Rev.Canon.Denis Mwine Kizinduka who said the move once adopted by all women in the diocese and other parts of Uganda will create love and peace in homes. He made the remarks while at the celebrations of St.Peter’s Day at Nombe Church of Uganda.
Rev Canon Kizinduka, the Parish Priest and Archdeacon of Nombe Parish and Nombe Archdeaconry has advised women in the area to honor their husbands as the bible requires and accord them full respect in order for the families to be stable, sustainable, and developmental. He made the comments today while addressing hundreds of Christians who turned up to celebrate St.Peter’s Day at Nombe Church of Uganda.
Kizinduka noted with concern that many families nowadays are rapidly breaking down because women have lost respect for their husbands, attributing this to the increase in cases of domestic violence and other family-related problems.
He advised men to be responsible parents and work towards building stable families and cautioned women against being rude to their husbands. He however also urged husbands to be supportive to their wives and asked them to love God and bring up their children to be God-fearing.
During the celebrations, 9 men were initiated into the Father's Union for Nombe Parish. These took vows under a session which was led by Rev.Canon Kizinduka and later marched into the church as a sign of being initiated into the Father's Union officially. Rogers Katwesigye, the Fathers Union Leader Nombe Parish said the jubilant fathers vowed to support church projects and spread the word of God and also promised to develop their families.
Asaph Arinitwe, the preacher of the day urged women to add value to themselves. Arinitwe, the Vice Chairman of Fathers Union Ankole diocese and chairperson of Fathers Union St.Peters Kamukuzi Church of Uganda also urged them to distance themselves from evil practices like going into Witchcraft which he said has hindered development in many families.
