School Going Children Tasked To Make Right Choices For A Better Future

National Theatre in Kampala, Tassels Films in partnership with COU Family TV organized a mentorship program targeting young children in school.

The program saw different stakeholders come in to facilitate the young ones on different topics who started with watching an edutaining movie.

Among the mentors was Owen Mwesigye the head of programming and Marketing at COU Family TV and in his presentation advocated for safe media practices amongst young children.

While at National Theater today, over 200 school-going children were mentored on safety while at school. This was done following a movie titled CHOICES that seeks to educate a child on better choices they should make while at school.

Atusasire Barbra the director of Tassels Films expressed the urge for children's mentorship programs and how they help in shaping the future of the young ones.

Barbra called upon talented individuals to step up and use their talents regardless of the different careers they have.

Owen Mwesigye the marketing manager at COU Family TV who was also among the facilitators, gave insight during the mentorship session driving under the topic of Safe media practices. He cautioned the children and parents against poor media practices which included spending much time on devices.

According to Edward Hire, The burden to fight peer pressure calls for parents to intervene. He thinks children alone cannot fight this Vice but a supportive environment would impact on the change.

We spoke to some of the students and pupils who attended the mentorship program and they were excited to share what the program added on to them.
